Deck calibrated for 3M 996 and Ampex/Quantegy 499 Tape
Tascam38 went into shop 2 years ago to have take-up hub and motor replaced. Heads were re-lapped. This device has been well pampered and taken care of. Scratches are due to moving unit a few times to different locations before it found a permanent home inside an SKB 12-pace rack. SKB rack is not included in this deal.
All items were in production until late February of 2001. All channels fully operational. All VU lights on Tascam38 work, all VU meters on Tascam38 work. All tracks work. All heads fully functional. Wired remote and punch pedal fully functional. All channels of dbx via the DX-4D units are tested and 100% functional.
In case you have to ask why it is being sold, the reason is simple: I converted to an all digital facility and this device no longer fits into my long term vision. Yes, I'll miss this deck, but I will no longer be using it so I have decided to sell it to someone who will be able to use and enjoy this fine piece of equipment. This device has been usedfor many professional album projects for signed acts and even a feature film.
Buyer to pay actual shipping and handling. Due to the nature of this item and the high cost of the item, insurance and signature will be mandatory. This is a rather heavy item and total weight of the entire package is going to probably be over 60 pounds. I will ship anywhere in the United States including Alaska and Hawaii, using your choice of shipper and your choice of shipping method. Any package tracking numbers will be emailed to you immediately. This will ship in at least 2 boxes and will be professionally packed, one for the Tascam38 unit only, and a second package for everything else. Payment acepted via money order(s) or other certified payment method, or COD. Personal and corporate checks are accepted but will take 10 business days to clear. Sorry, no PayPal, no credit cards. All but COD require payment shipped in advance, and I will work hard to be as accurate as possible for the all fees.
